# Update on upcoming changes to shareholder reporting requirements

**What’s changing**

Companies will be required to collect the full names of shareholders and provide a one-off full list of shareholders when they file their confirmation statement. This will be a positive step towards improving transparency of company ownership.

**Timing and implementation**

While we don’t yet have a confirmed date for when these changes will come into force, we can confirm they will not be implemented before companies have completed identity verification requirements. We’ll release the technical schema for this new requirement as soon as it’s available to give you adequate time to update your software.
