Characters permitted in the filename of a document submitted with an electronic incorporation

Hi,

Will the Companies House validation of an electronic incorporation refuse to accept a document for Articles of Association, Memorandum of Association, Same Name Justification, etc. when the physical filename of the document contains one or more of the following characters?

< > ” ( ) . / + | @ $ ’

Thanks,
PJ

Hi PJ,

I presume you are referring to the file name as contained in the body of the XML submission data?

SDN

Hi Simon,

Yes, that’s correct. The file name of, for example, the Articles of Association, Memorandum of Association, or Same Name Justification document that can accompany the electronic incorporation.

Thanks,
PJ

Thanks PJ,

In general, we would firstly encourage developers not to use/allow filenames.

There is no character validation in that field that we are aware of however, so it should not be a reason for rejection.

Please let me know if this is not the case!.

Thanks
