New versions of the Companies House XML Gateway schemas have been published at
https://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk/SchemaStatus
The new schemas include the new requirements relating to ECCT act changes to the transactions and supporting basetypes listed below (including new ID verification requirements).
For reference, the new versions of the schemas will have the status RELEASED – and you can use the ‘More Info’ alongside the new schema to see an example.
Companies House plans to implement the new schemas in Autumn 2025, at which point, the current live versions of those schemas will be RETIRED and will no longer be accepted.
The new schemas and overview to the changes are:
- removal of director occupation data
- supports abolition of certain company registers (eg. register entry date is re-labelled)
- ID verification requirements
Important: CH will be publishing a further update to this PSCBaseTypes schema soon to support changes to PSC statements associated with transaction PSC08 and PSC09 (and LLP equivalents).
We have taken the decision to publish this basetype now, despite knowing it will be replaced, to provide you with all the IDV requirements associated with PSCs at this point.
The update to this basetype will not change IDV requirements – it will only be updated to provide new versions of PSC statements.
- supports abolition of certain company registers
- ID verification requirements (directors, PSCs, LLP members) and includes person name mismatch
- mandatory requirement to provide postcode on registered office address related filings
- personal authorisation method for subscribers to the memorandum and statement of compliance
Important: this basetype includes specifications for ‘relevant officer RO’ relating to ID verification of the corporate Relevant Legal Entity (RLE) PSC type – these requirements won’t be implementation in Autumn 2025 – so can be ignored at this point in time.

We will be in touch to inform you once the test facility is available for you to use.
