GDPR and CIC incorporation UPDATE

In line with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are removing “eye colour” from the “3 from 7” personal data used to authenticate subscribers in e-filed company incorporations, and also in the Deed Certification Statement section of mortgage charge submissions, as of 25th May 2018.

Although the current schemas will continue to be valid, anything submitted with “eye colour” after this date, will be rejected.

If you wish to upgrade to the new schema however, the links are as follows:
http://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk/v1-0/schema/baseTypes-v3-4-rc1.xsd
http://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk/v1-0/schema/forms/CompanyIncorporation-v3-2-rc2.xsd
http://xmlgw.companieshouse.gov.uk/v1-0/schema/forms/ChargeRegistration-v2-9-rc1.xsd

This new incorporation schema also includes the functionality to software file Community Interest Company formations for the first time.
If you choose to undertake this development, the following will prove useful:

• Element must be set to true.
• A copy of the CIC36 attachment must be added as a Base 64 encoded string within the appropriate element with a max file size of 10mb.
• CIC36 is the enumeration for the category of the document.
We would also expect the appropriate name endings to be used within the Company name:

  • Community Interest Company
  • CIC
  • C.I.C.
In order to fulfil the requirements for a Community Interest Company, the company type must be one of the following:
    • Private company limited by shares (BYSHR)
    • Private company limited by guarantee (BYGUAR)
As part of successfully incorporating a community interest company, we would also expect a bespoke articles attachment.
As there are potentially now 4 attachments needed, we have now enabled 4 attachments to be submitted.

A revised version of our technical specification (to including all of the above) will be available shortly.
