Incorporation: RegistersHeldOnPublicRecord

This is probably something very obvious but hopefully someone can confirm the specifics.

When submitting an incorporation request there is a section titled RegistersHeldOnPublicRecord which contains boolean options for directors, members and other bits.

What public register does this refer to and if I submit false for these entries what responsibilities does the company have for making this information available.
