According to the schema, Articles of Association are not mandatory on incorporation.

Can I confirm that this is correct? Can a company be incorporated without submitting a type of articles?

LLPs don’t need to supply, hence non mandatory. There should be appropriate validation.

Can I also confirm if it is only BESPOKE articles for which an attached document is expected, or could a company send in their articles as an attached document even if they are using model/amended articles?

I would add that the Companies Act 2006 brought in legislation that allows companies on incorporation to adopt “Model” Articles. The submission XML will have to reflect this however. In these instances therefore, only the Memorandum of Association need be submitted.
