Companies House is making an urgent change to the new Confirmation Statement that includes verification details.
The following schema will be updated to remove the PSC IDV elements. ConfirmationAndVerificationStatement-v1-0.xsd
The directors IDV elements will remain.
Once updated, only directors will be able to provide their IDV details within the confirmation statement filing - PSCs will not.
To support the filing of IDV requirements for all PSCs, Companies House will provide a new schema, purely for filing PSC IDV details. This can be used to:
- file PSCs IDV details at the same time as the confirmation statement for those PSCs whose IDV statement filing dates align with the confirmation statement
- file independently for PSCs who IDV statement filing dates align with their date of birth month
- file independently for PSCs who have not provided their IDV details on incorporation or notification transactions (who have taken advantage of the 14-day period allowed)

But it is important to make this change now, so that Companies House can support the independent filing of the PSC IDV details in all circumstances. Companies House plans to publish the change to the new confirmation statement schema and introduce the new independent PSC IDV statement schema on Tuesday 26 August 2025. We will inform you as soon as it is available on the schema page. For reference, below is an early example of how the new PSC verification statement schema will look. It will include the standard form header to identify the company, person information to identify the person, then the ID verification elements (unique code, statement and optional name mismatch reason).
